Brasilian Amazonas
Rubber Industry Museum
The rubber industry
helped create the developed Amazon of today, bringing Manaus alive with
European culture and riches. This tiny museum will be located on
the Rio Mamori, is near the home of one of the last rubber artists.
Jose Maia continues to craft rubber boots, wallets, and other useful
items for the locals.
We need museum
display expertise, Portuguese translations to any other language
(especially English, German, French, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, and
Russian), carpenters, and others who want to help create this special
site.

if you are interested in being a part preserving this important part of
the history of the Amazon.
