R. Perry, Ed.D, International Educational Consultant, has served
as project director for international educational projects abroad
since 1999. She has taken groups to Ghana, China, and

activities important to inhabitants of rural areas of developing
countries and how those activities affect the quality of the
local environment.

with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture with emphasis
in Animal Science. Her Master of Science Degree, from
New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, is in Chemistry,
with emphasis in Biochemistry. In 2002, Dr. Perry received
her Doctorate of Education from the University of New Mexico
in Educational Leadership and Administration. Her professional
experiences emphasize educational project development, planning,
implementation, and evaluation.
Significant
grants related to international project development include
numerous United States Department of Education Fulbright-Hays
Group Projects Abroad Program grants that funded the teacher
professional development and research projects in developing
countries.
What
is Dr. Perry’s particular interest in taking educational groups
to developing countries? An individual can study a particular
culture or group of people anywhere. The internet has
opened the world to us and truly, we have become a global society.
The
unique aspect of studying while living in a developing country
is experiential learning within cultural immersion of the locale.
The experiences are profound and enriching. When we learn
of other peoples and cultures different from our own and embrace
others without judgment, we most often find that there are more
similarities than differences. Through her projects, Dr.
Perry believes the domino effect will bring world peace and
acceptance, one individual at a time.
